Roser AG:
Customised interior doors for school and kindergarten in Rodersdorf, Switzerland

Zülpich/Birsfelden. Following extensive renovation work, the primary school and kindergarten in Rodersdorf now look stunning. A key element of the project was the installation of customised interior doors with elegant veneer finishes, which not only meet functional requirements but also impress with their attractive design. Roser AG from Birsfelden in Switzerland contributed its expertise to this project, alongside the sustainable natural material, and worked with the joinery firm Weber AG and door manufacturer Brunex to implement a well-thought-out solution.

The nursery in Rodersdorf was newly built, while the primary school underwent extensive renovation. Roser was actively involved in the project from the early planning stages. Door specialist Nico Strittmatter from Roser AG and the Weber AG joinery in Seewen accompanied architect Lina Beham from Beck Oser Architekten ETH SIA GmbH in Basel directly on site to clarify technical details and work out the optimal solution together with all parties involved. The product ‘Furnier Express Fixmasse Seekiefer geschält' (peeled maritime pine veneer adhesive) was used in the nursery and school - a high-quality veneer that was cut to size by Roser and delivered to Brunex for door production. ‘The interior and fire doors made from this material blend harmoniously into the overall architectural concept of the buildings and impress with their natural look and durable quality,' says project manager Fabian Sager from Roser AG.

The implementation of two EI30 fire protection elements made of oak with glass was particularly challenging. ‘These doors not only had to comply with strict fire safety regulations, but also had to fit in with the building's design concept. This required the utmost precision - both in terms of technical planning and craftsmanship,' says Sager. Thanks to close cooperation between the architect, carpenter, door manufacturer and Roser AG, these complex elements were realised exactly according to specifications.

Roser not only supplied the materials, but also supported the project with comprehensive services: from consulting in the planning phase to technical coordination and on-time delivery. ‘The result is a harmonious overall picture that combines functionality and aesthetics - and offers the children and teachers of the Rodersdorf kindergarten and school a safe, inspiring environment,' says Dirk-Uwe Klaas, Managing Director of Initiative Furnier + Natur (IFN), concluding the project.
